Can You Believe This?
This is Manila during the mid-50’s. Manila used to be so beautiful, much like the vintage New York and like what my Philippine History professor said, “the Paris of Asia.” Those who were born during that era must have been so lucky to witness Manila at its peak.

Looking at these images makes me think about my parents growing up in the Philippines. This is what it looked like before they left for the United States more than twenty years ago. They weren’t able to visit again until recently, like two years ago. When I went to the Philippines with them, my first time visiting, and their first time after twenty years, I can compare the difference of how it looked back then and how it looks now. Nonetheless, we all still had a good time, my parents showing me places that they used to go to, and their old homes.
But I’m glad I found these pictures on Tumblr. The Philippines is beautiful.
